The ALARC Ice Dive is an annual event started in 1990. Join us for our 33rd Anniversary Dive! Jump into Lake Minnetonka to wake you up on New Year's Day! Great Annual Tradition with major bragging rights and contribution to wonderful charities!
ScheduleThe ALARC Ice Dive will be held in Lake Minnetonka from the shoreline at the public docks in Excelsior at 395 Lake Street right behind the Port of Excelsior. Due to COVID-19, all registrations will be online. This event will be Drive-Up, Dive, and Drive-Away this year. We recommend having a friend drive you to the event and drive you home after finishing your dive.If you want to drive yourself, there are a limited number of parking spots available in downtown Excelsior.
The event will start at 9:00 am and is expected to finish by 10:30 am. In order to social distance the divers, please respect the following schedule by Fish Level: If your group has divers from different levels, please arrive at the time of the most senior diver. Dive Times: 9:00 – 9:15 Polar Bears, Orcas, Sharks 9:15 – 9:30 Barracudas 9:30 – 9:45 Muskies, Northerns, Walleyes 9:45 – 10:15 Minnows, Guppies, First time divers 10:15 – 10:30 Divers that overslept, are habitually late, got lost, or partied too late on New Year's Eve 10:30 - Last dive You should wear the clothes you will jump in as there will be no changing rooms. The less clothes you wear, the better. Sweatshirts and other cotton items hold the water after the dive, and when hitting cold air, feel much colder to the diver. Once you arrive at the dive site, head to the Dive Hole where the ALARC Ice Dive staff will guide you through the diving process. The Excelsior Fire Department will be there to help divers across the Dive Hole with poles if you wish. Hennepin County Hospital will have an ambulance there in case of an emergency. We encourage you to visit our partners after the ALARC Ice Dive. Excelsior Brewing Company, 421 Third Street, Excelsior, MN 55331 and Olives Pizza, 287 Water Street, Excelsior, MN 55331. They are next door to each other. Those divers earning and purchasing a Shark or Orca robe will be given the robe at the Excelsior Brewing Company after their dive. Excelsior Brewing is sending several divers to the ALARC Ice Dive. For more information about the ALARC Ice Dive, please download this flyer. DOnations
